Volunteer Coordinator
Are you a collaborative individual? Are you looking to combine your experience with volunteer coordination and your passion to release children form poverty in Jesus’ name? We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Volunteer Specialist on a 1-year Fixed Term Maternity Cover until November 2022.
Position: Regional Volunteering Specialist
Location: Home-based (South) with regular travel within the region
Salary: £23,500pa (within the grade £23,500 to £29,580pa)
Hours: 35 hours per week over a flexible working pattern with some weekend working
Duration: 1 Year fixed term Maternity Cover until November 2022
Benefits: Enhanced pension scheme with 10% employer contribution, equivalent of 5 normal working weeks' annual leave a year, plus normal bank holidays, Dental Insurance, Income Protection and Group Life cover on appointment.

About the Role
As a Regional Volunteering Specialist you’ll work with the Volunteering Manager and Partnerships Team to grow and develop a network of volunteers. You will work closely with church speakers and Events volunteers to increase their level of engagement and sense of ownership in our shared ministry.
You will implement a regional volunteer development strategy by actively recruiting, selecting and training local volunteers and lead the local roll out of regional communities of volunteers.
Responsibilities include
- Actively maintain and promote the charity’s ethos and values.
- Collaborate on the recruitment, selection, equipping and development of volunteers, increasing their engagement in the shared ministry.
- Work closely with the Learning and Development Specialist to provide administrative support to enable the delivery of the Learning and Development strategies.
About You
To flourish in this role, you’ll need:
- Experience in volunteer coordination with the ability to recruit, induct, train and manage volunteers
- To be an expert of best practice in volunteer management
- To be highly collaborative with a natural ability to work with others
- To be a gifted communicator, with a natural ability to connect with and inspire people and motivate them to take action
- Have core office/administrative skills
- A full UK driving licence
- To be educated to at least GCSE level standard and/or be able to show relevant work-based experience in a results driven organisation
It would help (but isn’t essential) to have:
- Experience managing decentralised communities of volunteers or similar stakeholders
- Experience using a CRM solution
- Experience of delivering training, particularly to volunteers who are spread over a large geographic area
