Contract: Until March 2023
Salary: £30,000 Per Annum

Our client is a community charity with a green heart that has been at the forefront of social and environmental regeneration in London for over 20 years. Each year they deliver hundreds of innovative environmental and social action projects across the capital. Their projects change places and lives for the better in some of London’s most deprived and disadvantaged neighbourhoods. This includes working with communities to make their neighbourhoods greener and more resilient to climate change, supporting long-term unemployed individuals to find work, helping young people get back into education and training, and advising residents how to save money on their energy and water needs

This Hub in Peckham is the charity’s mental wellbeing support service for young people aged 11 - 25 and living in the London Borough of Southwark. Since launching as a remote service in May of 2020, right in the middle of the Covid-19 Pandemic, it has gone from strength to strength and is looking for a passionate, experienced, skilled and empathetic individual to join the team as they get ready to expand their offer to include support for 0 - 10’s.

The hub's Under 11’s Service Coordinator will mobilise and lead the 0 - 10’s service offer. The Coordinator will develop and maintain close working relationships with community stakeholders to ensure that the service compliments and supports already existing provisions for 0 - 10s in the borough. They will listen to and centre the voices of Southwark parents/carers and children in the planning and delivery of the service as those affected by a service are best placed to help design it.

The post holder will have extensive experience working with parents/carer and 0 - 10’s in order to provide line management and support to the Under 11’s team while working closely with The hub's Wellbeing Lead to triage incoming referrals and make onward referrals to appropriate external agencies where necessary. The Service Coordinator will report to the Service Manager and be responsible for ensuring that contractual and other funding requirements are met fully.

The successful candidate will be a strong and effective communicator with the ability to speak and behave empathetically with people at all levels, you will also have a strong understanding of the mental health and well-being issues faced by young people, and of how these impact their lives and the those of their families. You will be willing to go the extra mile required to ensure the timely and effective delivery of services to the young people, their families and carers whose needs and the support they require are central to this role and the service.

This role is funded by Southwark Borough Council.
