We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Advocacy Referral Administrator to join our inspiring and friendly Advocacy team. Your role will be a permanent position working full time, 35 hours per week with agile working.

As the Senior Advocacy Referral Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the referral and triage process for anyone contacting our Advocacy service. You will ensure we provide a high quality first response to clients and referrers contacting the service as well as co-ordinating the referral triage process working closely with the Contract Manager and Supervising Advocates.

What will you be doing?

- Line managing the Referral & Data coordinator

- Ensuring the referral team provide individuals/referrers with a high quality and effective first response by providing information relating to their concern, and ensuring they get the right advocacy support or signpost to other agencies if better placed to provide specialist advice

- Supporting the Group & Volunteer Coordinators to ensure that people contacting the services are offered opportunities to develop self-advocacy skills, and to develop a pathway to peer support and citizen advocacy support

- Managing the triage process for all referrals and enquiries into the service, appropriately applying eligibility criteria using the local prioritisation procedure

- Managing the development and maintenance of an information library and self-advocacy resources that are accessible on the service website and internally to meet need and ensure effective signposting

- Liaising with interpreters for any referrals where the person’s first language is not English, linking with other services if there are barriers to communication or sensory requirements/adaptations

- Supporting the Contract Manager with auditing of service data quality, record information for service monitoring systems and assist with the compilation of qualitative/statistical KPI reports

Do you have what we are looking for?

- Completed the National Qualification in Independent Advocacy (Level 3) or significant experience of providing advocacy support, advice or guidance to vulnerable people

- A good understanding of key laws, in order to answer complex questions around rights under the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and Care Act

- Experience of working in one or more of the following specialist areas: learning disabilities; mental health/capacity; older people; physical disabilities; sensory impairment; children & young people; substance misuse; NHS Complaints

- Experience of contributing to the promotion and understanding of the role of Statutory and Non-Statutory Services among staff working in Health and Social Care, Service Users, Carers and other Stakeholders

- Experience of managing a busy office and a team

- Ability to travel throughout the locality including travel when required
