Our client are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their Step Forward Tees Valley team as a Navigator.
Job title: Navigator (Employment Support Officer)
Salary: Circa £21,500 per annum
Hours: Full Time - 37 hours per week (Fixed Term until 30/06/2022)
Reporting to: Team Leader
Location: Redcar
About the organisation
Our client is a leading regeneration charity, working through partnership to create communities in which people are proud to live and work.
Step Forward Tees Valley is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund and European Social Fund until June 2022. Working in partnership with 17 voluntary and community sector delivery partners, Step Forward Tees Valley will support people into or towards employment and/or training.
About the role
You will manage a caseload of participants with complex barriers and provide 1:1 support to people who are long term unemployed to help them move towards and access training and employment. By providing intensive support and advice, the team will help each participant develop a tailored action plan and identify how this can be best met through existing services and/or via Step Forward Tees Valleys health, employment, financial and digital inclusion services.
As a Navigator you would be responsible for engaging and supporting participants through every stage in their journey, addressing barriers and introducing activities to support progression.
This role will work solely on the Step Forward Tees Valley programme.
Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced disclosure endorsed by the Disclosure and Barring Service.
About you
They want someone who has proven experience of working successfully with people who have multiple barriers to employment and is able to run participant engagement activities. Experience of regularly using a Management Information System to support with caseload and diary management. Proficient in accurately completing and updating required paperwork whilst maintaining quality assurance to support in achieving set targets. Your role will require you to have the ability to work effectively within a partnership, as a member of their team and individually within a complex, changing and challenging environment.
