Are you passionate about improving the lives of adopted and other permanently placed children and young people, and their families?

PAC-UK’s Child and Family Service offers specialist therapeutic interventions for families whose children experienced significant separations and loss, and more often than not developmental trauma prior to their adoptive/permanent placement. The provision of ‘Non-Violent Resistance’ groups for parents is very much part of what is offered too. PAC-UK has received consistent ratings of an ‘Outstanding’ Adoption Support Agency by Ofsted.

We are looking for a Practice Manager who will lead the practice of this Child and Family Service.

You will manage the practice of the service, build strong relationships with the therapists of the Child and Family team, as well as the Head of Service and other managers within PAC-UK and Family Action. You will also liaise with referring Regional Adoption Agencies.

You will ensure that quality standards are met, as well as safeguarding and Ofsted requirements. Your practice management will greatly assist in the service continuing to develop and remain innovative and successful.

About You

You will be a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed to enabling children and families to reach their full potential. You will have a specific interest and experience of managing the practice of a therapeutic service, including groups for parents.

You will have current knowledge and therapeutic skills in the fields of adoption and permanency, as well as therapeutic family work, preferably including Theraplay, the use of creative therapies, Therapeutic Life Story Work and NVR (Non-Violent Resistance). Key qualities are your communication, organisation and ability to learn about new ways of working.

You will have strong verbal and written communications skills, experience of delivering in person as well as virtual therapy and support, for example through Teams, Zoom and telephone counselling if needed.

You will have a relevant qualification in social work, therapy or psychology.
