JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:       Trust Fundraiser

Department: Business Services

Reports to:    CEO

Contract:       Permanent

Salary:          up to £30,989.18 pro rata (depending on experience)

Hours:           Part-time 22-30 hours per week (flexible, to be agreed)

  MAIN PURPOSE:

To lead on bid writing to generate income from Trusts and Foundations in line with the fundraising strategy, to enable future growth.  To coordinate and maintain a healthy pipeline of funders through effective research.  To build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders including existing and potential new funders. 

The role can be largely homebased, with office space provided in Beaufort House, Exeter if required.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Through effective and continuous research, build and maintain a pipeline of potential funders, matching with appropriate workstreams
  • Work with project / service delivery staff to gain information (inputs, activities, outputs) and golden nuggets (statistics, testimonials and case studies) that can be included in bids
  • Craft compelling copy for a range of applications to external funders
  • Ensure that applications and costings are signed off with the relevant staff, leaving sufficient time to meet funder deadlines
  • Build a portfolio of successful relationships with grant making organisations – maintain those relationships to increase the likelihood of successful reapplications and continuation funding
  • Build on existing relationships by providing accurate and informative reports which are delivered within deadlines
  • Work with the communications team to ensure funders are given recognition on the website, via social media and press opportunities when relevant / requested (gaining permission from funders in all cases)
  • Ensure all funder recognition is included in the financial annual report in line with any specifications within grant agreements or funder contracts
  • Work with the finance department upon notification of grant awards, ensuring that any restricted funds are allocated to the correct accounting department
  • Work with the communications team to ensure a good selection of imagery and testimonials are available for bids
  • Attend and assist with any charity events which offer the potential to cultivate prospective funders
  • Coordinate any Trust and Foundation Trustee visits to the charity as and when required
  • Work with the finance team to prepare annual budget for Trust Fundraising income
  • Ensure all communication with Trusts and Foundations is recorded on the fundraising database
  • Keep abreast of charity law and abide by the Charities Act, Fundraising Regulator and General Data Protection Regulation
  • Manage any volunteers assigned to this function
  • To participate in the monthly fundraising meeting
  • To undertake any other duties which fall broadly within the scope of this role
