As one of our Community Partnerships Managers, you will be based in the North East or London/South East of England. Living within your region, you will work from home but be expected to travel extensively within your area and to the Peterborough Office.

The Leprosy Mission is the world’s largest leprosy-focused organisation, a pioneer in our field, with 140 years’ experience tackling this ancient disease. As a leading international Christian development organisation, The Leprosy Mission England and Wales (TLMEW) works in 10 countries across Africa and Asia to defeat leprosy and transform lives. We raise funds, promote research and innovation, and support our partners to strengthen health systems, provide life-changing health care services, skills training and opportunities for those who have been excluded and rejected by society.

TLMEW’s purpose is to increase awareness and understanding of leprosy and to achieve fundraising targets in excess of £9 million per annum in order to support our overseas projects.

You will be the face of The Leprosy Mission in the North East or the South East of England and will report to the Community Partnerships Team Manager. Living within your region, you will work from home but be expected to travel extensively within your area and to the Peterborough Office.

You will need to:

  • be an engaging presenter on Zoom and public speaker face to face
  • have proven success as a community fundraiser or have requisite proven sales/marketing success gained in the business sector
  • recruit new supporters and manage volunteers to give generously of their time talents and resources
  • have excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills to understand your ROI
  • be willing to work on Sundays and evenings as required, and occasional Saturdays
  • be able to develop and deliver a regional fundraising strategy.

TLMEW is an explicitly Christian charity and working across all faiths. The role of the Community Partnerships Manager is to represent the Mission’s purpose and ethos to external audiences. You will be a confident speaker with the ability to adapt your style to suit all church denominations. As the successful candidate will be required to undertake biblical research to locate appropriate scripture for use in TLMEW presentation and written materials and maybe asked to the lead the services in some supporting churches, there is an occupational requirement for the Community Partnerships Manager to be a committed Christian.

A valid UK driving licence is an essential requirement for the role as a car allowance will be provided to enable you to have a car to assist you with the duties associated with this role. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a work health questionnaire.

TLMEW has a zero-tolerance policy towards any abuse, neglect and exploitation of all people. Successful candidates are expected to understand, sign and comply with all organisational policies, including the Safeguarding Code of Conduct and the Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults Policy. Recruitment to roles within TLMEW includes, in particular, criminal record checks and the collection of relevant references. A criminal record will not necessarily bar you from joining us as an employee; this will depend on the circumstances of any offences. TLMEW is committed to diversity and welcomes applications from appropriately qualified people from all sections of the community.
