We are looking for a dynamic, proactive, project and systems accountant to support us through a journey of growth and internationalisation. This role will act as the primary point of contact for project and systems support to help ensure the organisation is able to deliver our projects in a financially sustainable manner, navigating a diversity of funding and financial models and making best use of our systems and processes. It will also support the ongoing development of Forum’s financial resilience through capacity building of all those involved in project delivery.

To thrive in this role you will enjoy building cross-organisational relationships and communicating with and managing wide ranges of stakeholder. You will be an exceptional problem solver, able to think laterally about solutions and be confident in implementing them. You will have an analytical mind to be able to spot patterns and understand trends and you will be comfortable simultaneously working in detail and considering the big picture

This will be the perfect role for a recently qualified accountant, looking to take the next step in their career in the not-for-profit sector. It will provide great experience working in a high-paced, fluid and internationally focused work environment as part of a small and highly effective non-profit focused on driving systems change to create a more just and regenerative future. In return, we offer a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of systems thinking and change making. We work as a close knit, dynamic, and supportive team.

About Forum for the Future

Forum for the Future is an independent, international non-profit with a purpose to accelerate systems change for a just and regenerative future. We have a 25 year track record in partnering with pioneering companies who recognize that social and environmental issues are already shaping their business context today, and want to actively create the conditions for their future success.

In addition to working with these organisations one on one, we bring companies, NGOs, government representatives and others together to create action-oriented coalitions on particularly urgent and complex sustainability challenges. Examples include The Protein Challenge 2040, which is working to ensure we can feed 9 billion people with enough protein in the future; Cotton 2040, which is working to mainstream sustainable cotton; and The Net Positive Project, which is helping to create a movement of companies giving more back to society and the environment than what they take out. As a charity, we publicly share our learnings from this work through communications, events, and our School of System Change.

Forum has offices in London, New York, Mumbai and Singapore. We are a multicultural team of 80+ people and we operate as a global team, delivering both international and local projects.

Company

Forum for the Future is a non-profit organisation working globally with business and government to create a sustainable future. We have 15 years’ experience inspiring new thinking, building creative partnerships and developing practical innovations to change our world. We aim to transform the critical systems that we all depend on, such as food, energy and finance, to make them fit for the challenges of the 21st century.

Over the past 15 years, Forum for the Future has:
• changed the debate about sustainable business by highlighting the opportunities it offers, and been instrumental in altering the way leading companies operate – from Aviva to Unilever;
• trained thousands of leaders, across society, through our master classes and Masters Programme, so they are knowledgeable about sustainable development and equipped to face the global challenges like climate change and shortages of vital resources;
• promoted long-term thinking and created shared, positive visions of tomorrow with businesses, government and NGOs, through our ground-breaking futures and scenarios work;
• sparked innovation of new products, services and business models that will make our world more sustainable.

However, in spite of our achievements and in spite of overwhelming scientific evidence, the challenge of increasing well-being within environmental limits is more acute than ever. Tackling global problems through small or isolated initiatives just won't deliver change at a speed or on a scale we need.

We now want to transform the complex systems which serve our fundamental needs - such as food, energy and finance - so that they are fit for the 21st Century. And to do this, we are putting ‘systems innovation’ at the heart of our new strategy

We do our best to make Forum for the Future a great place to work. For more information on working at Forum for the Future, please visit http://www.forumforthefuture.org/jobs
