Education Programme Manager - Maternity Cover
Chalk Farm, London
About the Roundhouse
A lot of people know the Roundhouse for our incredible history, but our future is just as exciting. Our home is a unique heritage building that has a rich history built on counterculture, revolutionary theatre and life-changing music moments. But we’re building on that legacy and independent venue spirit. The Roundhouse Studios - a creative space for young people - is a home for young Londoners, where the next generation of creatives are using their talent and their voice to change the world around them.
About you
We welcome applications from people who feel they can bring their own experiences and ideas to the table and empower those around them to do the same.
About the role
We take great pride in the amazing and wide-ranging work we do with young people aged 11-30 to develop their skills and confidence through creativity. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual to join us as Education Programme Manager, to lead the delivery of a high-quality creative programme for, and with, a range of education providers to create opportunities that add value and enhance current cultural education provisions.
As part of the Youth Policy and Engagement Team, the Education Programme Manager will have responsibility for the design and delivery of after-school programmes, taster sessions, curriculum-based activities, online resources and work experience initiatives. The role will develop and manage apprenticeship programmes and will take a strategic lead in consulting and exchanging best practice with peer organisations, education providers and members of the arts and creative industry sectors, to drive Roundhouse’s work in cultural education.
The successful candidate will be required to have a current and acceptable DBS check due to the nature of the role.

From modest Victorian beginnings – beginning life in 1846 as a steam-engine repair shed – to legendary cultural venue, the Roundhouse has an enviable heritage. The Grade II* listed building is now home to a bold and exciting programme of live music, theatre, dance, circus, installations and new media.

Young people are at the heart of everything we do. They're on our board and help plan and perform at our events. We offer a year-round schedule of creative projects for 11–25 year olds in 24 state-of-the-art studios, where facilities include TV, radio and music production, media suites and rehearsal rooms for music and performance.

It's the interaction between artists on stage and 11–25s that makes the Roundhouse unique.
Young people have interviewed Paul McCartney for Roundhouse Radio, filmed a documentary on NoFit State circus, and worked with Apple to deliver live streaming of events.

The Roundhouse employs about 105 permanent staff in a wide range of roles to help raise the £3m we need each year towards our artistic programme and work with young people.
