Citizens Advice offers confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free. We give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem. We help with everything from money issues to problems at work, housing to consumer rights.
Universal Credit is the fastest growing advice issue for the Citizens Advice service and Local Citizens Advice offices everywhere and improving the support available to people making a claim is vital.
Citizens Advice delivers a service called “Help to Claim” which offers end-to-end support to help people make a new Universal Credit claim and be ready for when their first payment arrives.
We are looking for candidates with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a knowledge of – or appetite to gain an in-depth knowledge of – the benefits system, and a commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice Service.
You will be working as part of a national network of Best Practice Leads and will gather and share learning about how Universal Credit and the Help to Claim service is performing, develop relationships with relevant local stakeholders and sharing ideas and best practice.
The role will work across the North East Yorkshire and Humberside Jobcentre Plus district area to improve people’s experience of Universal Credit as well as feed into the wider Best Practice Lead network and work of national Citizens Advice.
Funding: This role is funded until 31st March 2022 by the DWP.
Pension: We operate the NEST Pension Scheme
Application Closing Date: 12 noon on 24th May 2021
Interview Date: Provisionally w/c 31st May 2021 (over videoconference)
