About this job
The role of Regional Development Officer (North West) is one of 9 Regional Development Officers within a new Regional Development team which is part of the organisation’s wider Community Networks team.
As part of the Regional Development team your role will be to develop the charity’s local community presence across the North West of England, developing awareness of and engagement with the MS community by the wider community.
As a Regional Development Officer you’ll support local volunteer groups to develop new partnerships, share good practice, respond to local need and engage with the wider community. This includes the development of events and services, with MS professionals and local groups where appropriate, to engage the community in the charity’s work.
You’ll play an important role working in partnership with local group volunteers and the MS Community to incorporate their needs and views into the charity’s work and will provide guidance and support to the local volunteers when developing local group services.
The role also focuses on developing connections with communities that they currently under-engage with and to support the development of informal groups within the MS community, and the charity’s relationship with them.
The post-holder will have experience of working alongside end-users in the coproduction of services or activities, and a commitment to the principles of coproduction; experience of managing the delivery of activity plans in partnership with volunteers, as well as experience of partnership working to improve local services and outcomes for beneficiaries.
The post will cover the following areas:
Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and the Isle of Man and there will be occasional travel to London.
As this role covers large geographical areas you’ll need to hold a full driving licence and have access to a car.
