The role

The organisation is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Database and Membership Development Officer to join their team and hit the ground running by leading on the development of new procedures to improve their membership processes, data quality and overall integration. As they are a small charity, in this role you will have the chance to be involved in a range of duties from providing advice and support on more complex, technical database work to data entry, IT and website assistance. You will be the subject matter expert on their database and will need to ensure that you document and share your knowledge with others in the team, as well as third-party partners.

Day-to-day you will be responsible for the overall management and maintenance of membership services and the database which will include processing membership applications, managing the renewals process, supporting members with queries and working with external suppliers. This role will require you to have a keen eye for detail and strong governance to ensure that data quality is optimised.  Additionally, you will be extracting data and producing reports to provide insight on the organisation’s membership to support with the development of their engagement, retention, and benefit strategies.

The successful candidate will be a proficient database user with experience of database administration and data integration with websites and mailing list systems. Ideally you will have experience of working in a membership focussed environment and would enjoy working within a small team. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to take complex technical instructions and translate these into easy-to-use guides for colleagues. A working knowledge of GDPR/PECR regulations is an essential part of this role to ensure the organisation remains compliant.
