To achieve this we provide information, advice and connection services for older people; campaign on the issues that matter most to them around health and care, poverty and loneliness and provide capacity building support to others working in the sector.

This is an exciting time to join the charity as we embark on our new ambitious strategy for 2021 – 2023 and increase our profile, impact and reach so more people can live a happy, connected and purposeful later life.

We are looking for a social care specialist who can support teams across the charity in their work. You will help deliver our expert telephone advice service. You will provide guidance and training for our advice team on social care issues affecting older people. You will support our information team with the production of social care resources and working closely with our policy teams on wider system change. There is potential to develop this role and you will play a key part in this.

The role sits within a Technical Advice team of four covering advice on social care, money and welfare benefits and health and wellbeing.

With experience in the field of social care and/or delivering social care advice, you should have a good understanding of the legislative and regulatory frameworks relating to social care, the Care Act 2014, and the issues faced by older people. You will have excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to write about social care issues in a clear and concise way. Ideally, you will have experience of supporting staff development.
