We are looking for an innovative and dynamic Service Manager to join our Survive and Thrive Children and Families Domestic Abuse Service. Using a trauma-informed, systemic approach we work with children, their carers and the professionals working around them to create stability and safety, build resilience, repair, and strengthen family relationships and plan for the future. We work with people from a range of backgrounds and are committed to ensuring we meet the needs of all our services users.

Your impact
As Service Manager, you will inspire and lead the team to be the best it can be. You will manage a small cohort of senior staff and lead on quality assurances processes. In addition, you will develop new and existing areas of work and together with our delivery partners Staying Put and Women’s Centre ensure the delivery of a joined up, holistic service provision for users of the Survive and Thrive Service.

Your skills and experience
We are looking for a transformational leader with management experience, an understanding of trauma-informed practice and an ability to work systemically. You will be creative, flexible, highly organised and dynamic with knowledge and experience of managing complex family situations where there are safeguarding concerns. You will have experience of partnership working and be able to demonstrate a strong track record around service design and development. You will have an excellent working knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact upon children.

What’s in it for me?
You will join a positive team passionate about delivering high-quality innovative services with a strong commitment to continuous learning and development. You will be supported by a friendly and approachable team of Bradford Family Action managers who offer peer support and cover for each other’s services. You will have the opportunity to thrive in an innovative organisation that values your opinion, encourages learning and has the needs of children and families at its core.

Family Action offers an excellent wellbeing offer and will invest in your professional development with ongoing quality training and career development opportunities (both specialised for Survive and Thrive and more general as well). You will be offered regular individual supervision and monthly group consultation together with your team. Family Action offers a generous pension scheme and leave entitlements.

Family Action are committed to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion in all that we do and we particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, LGBTQ+ candidates, candidates with disabilities, because we are committed to increasing the representation of these groups at Family Action. We offer a guaranteed interview scheme for disabled applicants and will reimburse your travel cost if you attend an interview.

We are forward looking, ambitious and committed to continuous improvement. We are a people-focused, can-do organisation, which strives for excellence in all we do and operates with mutual respect. If you share these values and behaviours and have the necessary skills, then we look forward to hearing from you.
