Strategy and Communications Lead, Wild Isles

£48,374pa

Living Planet Centre, Woking, Surrey

This is an incredible opportunity to use your experience of developing multi-channel, integrated communications strategies to help the world’s leading independent conservation organisation and the UK’s largest nature conservation charity help save UK nature and the planet.

The Wild Isles project, built around a landmark natural history TV series to be broadcast in early 2023, is a unique partnership between WWF, the RSPB and Silverback Films. The project is aimed at inspiring people in the UK, particularly younger generations, to value and protect UK nature, and our world. It will encompass a full programme of activity incorporating public engagement, supporter growth, campaigns, advocacy and programmatic work. As Strategy & Communications Lead, you will be hosted at WWF, working across both organisations to collaborate with colleagues and our partners to ensure the project is developed and delivered effectively.

Join us and you will embed the right governance structure to keep the programme, and the projects within it, on track, on budget and aligned with our strategic priorities. Leading a small team, you will nurture key relationships, design marketing plans, oversee brand development and produce stakeholder reporting. You will also introduce key processes and tools for successful partnership management and governance. You will represent the programme at a senior level to internal and external audiences too. Important will be the ability to foster a collaborative team culture which empowers team members to make impactful things happen, within this ground-breaking partnership.

Experienced in developing multi-channel, integrated communications strategies, you will be used to managing external-facing, complex high-profile projects with big budgets. Comfortable forging partnerships with media organisations, broadcasters, production companies and charities to maximise impact, you will also excel at senior stakeholder management. Effective at managing resources, you will be a flexible thinker who is not afraid of bringing big ideas to the table. You will possess strong strategy, communication, influencing and problem-solving skills too. Experience of working with big brands and funders would be an advantage.

If you have the expertise to make this unique and critical project a success, we would love to hear from, so please visit our website via the link and complete the online registration and submit a copy of your up to date CV with cover letter highlighting why you are interested in this role as well as why this role is for you.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Every role at WWF is open to applications from all sections of society. We believe in the potential of everyone regardless of; race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, different physical ability, family structure, socio-economics, age, nationality or citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspect that makes you, well you.  Here at WWF we’re committed to conscious inclusion that helps cultivate an ethos of belonging, connection and shared purpose.  We believe that the more diverse we are the better we become; this brings us together and empowers us to develop, engage and inspire; and critically to help build a future where people can live in harmony with nature.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We’re looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.

Company

Best known as the world’s leading conservation body, we’ve seen first-hand how wildlife, the environment and human activity are all interlinked.

That’s why our passion for safeguarding the natural world has to be backed up by other environmental action – tackling the global threat of climate change (through our big global campaigns like Earth Hour) and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

WWF is at the heart of global activities in all these areas. We have teams of highly skilled professionals working with governments, businesses and communities here in the UK and around the world.
