Living Planet Centre, Woking, Surrey

This is an extremely rare opportunity to use your experience of working in a fast-paced communications environment to have a profound effect on life as we know it. Our planet is in peril and if it is to survive, we need to find solutions to restore nature, tackle climate change and feed a growing global population. By joining the senior leadership team at the world’s largest independent conservation organisation you could play your part in saving our world for future generations.

As Head of Digital Engagement, you will own the strategy, delivery and management of the Social Media and Email teams ensuring work is in line and supportive of strategic goals. We want you to bring more digital expertise, rigor and leadership in house to support new initiatives, advise on business-critical projects, campaigns and drive our digital and data maturity forward. You will develop our Email and Social channels to drive income in line with our ambitious growth strategy as well as ensure they effectively support campaign actions and change objectives. A hands-on digital leader you will manage and advise on reputational issues in the social space as well as influence internal stakeholders to see the value of a more digital approach to our work. Important will be the ability to embed a culture of professionalism and best practice and increase the capacity of your team to deliver projects effectively.

For this position you will need experience of working in a commercial or agency organisation and be comfortable operating in a fast-paced communications environment. Having worked in a similar senior role, you will be used to managing supplier agencies, implementing successful large-scale email programmes and embedding a culture of channel ownership and best practice.

An excellent communicator, you will be effective at stakeholder engagement, influencing others and building high performing teams. Results driven, you will possess strong project management and problem-solving skills too. You will also enjoy overseeing multiple projects, hitting deadlines and sharing your enthusiasm for best in class digital communication.

If you have a passion for Digital and new technology coupled with a desire to save our planet, we would love to hear from you. Please visit our website via the link, complete the online registration and submit a copy of your up to date CV with cover letter highlighting why you are why you believe you are suited for the role.

Every role at WWF is open to applications from all sections of society. We believe in the potential of everyone regardless of; sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, different physical ability, family structure, socio-economics, age, nationality or citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspect that makes you, well you.  Here at WWF we’re committed to conscious inclusion that helps cultivate an ethos of belonging, connection and shared purpose.  We believe that the more diverse we are the better we become; this brings us together and empowers us to develop, engage and inspire; and critically to help build a future where people can live in harmony with nature.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We’re looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.

Company

Best known as the world’s leading conservation body, we’ve seen first-hand how wildlife, the environment and human activity are all interlinked.

That’s why our passion for safeguarding the natural world has to be backed up by other environmental action – tackling the global threat of climate change (through our big global campaigns like Earth Hour) and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

WWF is at the heart of global activities in all these areas. We have teams of highly skilled professionals working with governments, businesses and communities here in the UK and around the world.
