A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Development Manager to join Bristol City Council’s Culture and Creative Industries Service to help us deliver an ambitious funding strategy that helps us raise the profile of the service and continue to deliver a dynamic programme of exhibitions, events, capital projects and much more.

Bristol City Council’s Culture and Creative Industries Service is looking for an experienced Development Manager to set and deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy to meet the service’s key priorities. This role will require the development and implementation of creative and innovative approaches to meet the current challenging funding landscape.

The Culture & Creative Industries Service (C&CI) is focused on cultural development and growth across the city. C&CI specifically oversees the work of Bristol Museums (Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, M Shed, The Red Lodge Museum, The Georgian House Museum, Blaise Museum, The Bristol Archives), The Bristol Film Office, The Bottle Yard Studios and The Create Centre, and a range of other functions.

As our Development Manager you will work collaboratively across teams to develop a strategy that raises the profile of the service and reach new audiences by enabling us to continue delivering our dynamic programme of activity that includes exhibitions, events, gallery refreshments, learning programmes and sector partnerships.

You will have experience of trusts & foundations, individual giving, corporate partnerships and major donor giving. You will be practised at utilising opportunities to raise unrestricted income and have experience of running successful fundraising campaigns. You will also work closely with key partners such as the Bristol Museums Development Trust. Being a good stakeholder manager is a given.
