High Value Relationships Officer – Legacies
Job ref: HVRO-L
Salary: c.£30,000
Hours: 35 hours per week

Place of work: Normal place of work is London, SE1. In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, you may be asked to work from home on a temporary basis.

Work with one of the country’s leading environmental charities and make a significant contribution to promoting, enhancing and protecting the countryside for everyone to enjoy. This exciting opportunity will suit a marketeer, who is organised, innovative and wants to make a real impact delivering our client’s legacy marketing and communications strategy. You must have experience of successfully initiating and managing legacy marketing campaigns and supporter events.

This charity has recently completed a major project to re-define their organisational purpose and set a new, six-year strategy to take them to 2026, their centenary year. They also developed an inspiring new legacy message in line with their rebrand. As a result, they now have a raft of supporter research and audience insights to inform their high value fundraising, together with ambitious plans to broaden their appeal and grow income, so that they can connect even more people with the countryside. Whilst working with this charity, you can expect to work with friendly, supportive and experienced colleagues, and have the opportunity to influence and develop a legacy marketing programme within a specialist high value fundraising team.

Reporting directly to the head of high value relationships, you will grow and deliver an area of work that currently represents a significant portion of the organisation's overall fundraising income, maximising income from legacy and in-memory fundraising and stewarding relationships with a variety of supporters. You will manage a busy and varied workload, covering legacy marketing campaigns, free will email marketing and acquisition advertising – all from creative brief through to delivery and evaluation. You will also deliver local legacy events and lead on the charity’s annual Christmas supporter celebration.

A large part of the role will be focused on developing relationships both internally and externally to expand and maintain a robust pipeline of legacy pledgers, intenders and enquirers. Therefore, you will need to have very good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt your communication style to different audiences.

Closing date: Midday, Thursday 25 March 2021
Interview: Tuesday 13 April 2021
