Job Details

Founded in 2014 by a small group of individuals conscious that one of the wealthiest cities in the world experiences food poverty and staggering food waste daily, our charity's goal is to connect all available surplus food with those who desperately need it.

We are a food-redistribution charity that is now well established as London’s emergency response unit for surplus food, with our vans being recognised as symbols of hope for those facing hunger. To date, we have delivered 17.5 million meals, whilst offsetting food wastage and CO2 emissions.

We provide a lifeline of support for beneficiaries, not only through food but the social connection our food forges. The physical and emotional loads some have had to carry is astounding and our organisation stands as a pillar of support for vulnerable Londoners. Through the long-lasting relationships with our 340 charity partners, we have been able to reach millions.

Demand for our food grows exponentially and we intend to be equipped to meet it. We have just moved into a new depot, significantly increasing our warehouse capacity, and have received strong support from our funders year on year.

Having established the charity and taken it to this strong growth position, our founder and CEO has decided to step aside to enable a new CEO to come in and take the charity to the next level.

Key details:

Role: CEO - food re-distribution charity

Salary: circa £80,000

Hours of work: Full time

Location: Acton, West London, with some home working

Our next CEO will have:

  • Experience of senior strategic leadership experience in the running of a £5-15 million turnover organisation.
  • Proven team leadership experience, developing teams to achieve and exceed organisational goals.
  • Experience in running all aspects of a small but growing organisation.
  • An understanding of the charity sector and a demonstrable alignment with the mission, work and values of the charity.

We are an equal opportunities employer and we encourage applicants who are from underrepresented groups with protected characteristics, as we value having a diverse pool of applicants to find the best candidate.

If you think this might be the challenge for you, please send an expression of interest in confidence to Jenny Hills at to receive the full information pack. If you would like a discussion, please email her at the same address with your availability to arrange a mutually convenient time to talk.

The closing date for applications is 9am on Monday 22nd March.
