Wakefield Cathedral is at the beginning of a new phase in mission and ministry, following the launch of its new Strategic Vision.
The cathedral has secured a grant from the Church Commissioners’ Cathedrals Sustainability Fund (CCCSF) to support this new post, with funding in place for an initial three years. During this period, it is anticipated that the postholder, along with the newly appointed Communications, Marketing & Digital Officer, will actively work towards making these posts financially self-supporting through increased regular income for the cathedral.
The Role: we see this new senior role as vital to building up the capacity and sustainability of the cathedral’s ministry, and even more so as we emerge from some of the most challenging months the nation has known in peacetime for several generations.
The Income & Funding Manager will lead in identifying and securing funding opportunities, for both major capital projects and the ongoing ministry and outreach of the cathedral. Sustainable revenue income is key to the cathedral’s future and the Income & Funding Manager will devise, implement and review a funding strategy for the cathedral and be actively engaged in developing and nurturing income streams from trusts and foundations, from regular giving, major donors and legacies.
