Independent Age works to ensure that as we grow older, we all have the opportunity to live well with dignity, choice and purpose. To achieve this we provide information, advice and connection services for older people; campaign on the issues that matter most to them around health and care, poverty and loneliness and provide capacity building support to others working in the sector.

This role is going to be key part in providing an impactful service offer for the charity. We would like to hear from people with a desire to support older people make a positive change in their own lives. Working closely with the Services Manager, the post holder will provide first class support for older people in and around Essex.
 
Independent Age is passionate about connecting people, places and services together to combat loneliness. The ideal candidate will need to have a person-centred approach with outstanding organisational skills. They should have experience working with, vulnerable or isolated people and be able to manage safeguarding and case work.
 
We are looking for community focused individuals with a real desire to make a difference. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a kind, welcoming, responsive approach, with the ability to demonstrate active listening skills.
 
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following:

• Working with community partners
• A keen awareness of issues older people face
• Experience of co-production activity alongside people who use services
• Managing case loads
• Managing electronic diaries
• Microsoft Office
• CRM systems such as Charity log and Salesforce.
• Video calling such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams
• Dealing with general enquiries either face to face or telephone.
• Signposting
• Supporting events and activities.

This role is home based within the Essex area (Tendering, Colchester, Chelmsford and surrounding areas).
