TRUSTEES FOR GRANT GIVING CHARITY
Approximately 5 meetings per year
- Are you passionate about the education of children?
- Do you have empathy for the Armed Forces and commitment to the cause of helping children whose education may be disadvantaged as a result of the circumstances of their parents’ service?
- Would you like to be part of our team of Trustees working to improve the lives of Forces Children?
The Armed Forces Education Trust is a national charity dedicated to supporting service children in education. We are currently seeking to recruit at least two Trustees. Candidates must show commitment to the aims of the Trust and be keen to help forces children. We would expect a successful candidate to have good independent judgement, strategic vision, a willingness to contribute to our work and demonstrate integrity.
Knowledge of the primary or secondary education sectors would be desirable, as would some understanding of the Armed Forces.
The Trust is professionally run and the Board, with specialist advice, is closely involved in the background to cases and decisions. Trustees will have up to 5 standing meetings a year, normally in London, with additional virtual meetings as required. As a result of COVID-19 all meetings are currently virtual but this will continue to reviewed. Trustees are not remunerated but reasonable expenses are paid.
