About Us

Help Musicians is an independent charity with an extraordinary history. For nearly 100 years we have provided a broad spectrum of help, support, and opportunities to empower professional musicians through times of great need and times of opportunity, providing a lifetime of support when it is needed most.

In 2020, Help Musicians saw a huge rise in musicians seeking its support because of the Covid-19 pandemic, with over 20,000 musicians of all genres receiving financial help as a result of hardship. With no sign yet of when live music will return, the need for financial, mental health, business development and creative support on a larger scale will continue to ensure that musicians can recover from this crisis and return to sustainable careers.

Join us and help make a real difference to the lives of musicians.

About the role

The Major Donor Manager will play a vital role, responsible for our portfolio of major donors and prospects, as well as the charity’s legacy fundraising. Working with the Head of Fundraising, you will lead in the development of an effective programme that grows the volume and value of major gifts to Help Musicians and stewards existing major donor and legacies relationships to deepen engagement with the charity.

The Major Donor Manager works collaboratively with colleagues across the charity to ensure that donor relationships are effectively managed, and major donors receive an excellent experience. The post-holder will also manage a Major Donor Officer, who is responsible for supporter data and supports on relationship management.

About you

The ideal candidate will bring a breadth of experience including a track record in developing a major giving programme that has driven growth, effective donor relationship management, experience of working with digital teams to drive engagement and meet income targets. You should be confident in analysing data and interpreting results to inform your team’s strategy. Experience in effectively managing fundraising teams to meet targets is also highly desirable.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join us at an exciting time as we begin our Centenary year, to help us achieve our ambitions and to provide more support and reach more people than ever before.
