Location: MSSC HQ, 202 Lambeth Road, London, SE1 7JW (temp homebased)

Contract: Full time , Permanent

Salary: £33,000 gross per annum

Marine Society and Sea Cadets (MSSC) is a leading maritime charity in lifelong learning and personal development and is the governing charity of the Sea Cadet Corps (SCC), a civilian voluntary youth organisation engaging some 15,000 young people over 400 Sea Cadet Units, throughout the UK.  The SCC offers a wide range of youth opportunities with the same enduring objective – to give young people the best possible head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.

We are looking for an experienced, creative and confident Senior Communications Officer to join our busy and growing team to help deliver the best profile raising results for our brands through a range of media and PR initiatives.

Key areas will focus on:

- Managing press launches to deliver impact and wide awareness.

- Develop and sell stories to a range of national and local outlets.

- Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to influence positively at all levels and be able to perform under time pressure.

- Deliver great communications over a range of integrated channels from print to digital that engage, influence and drive the charity’s profile amongst its key stakeholders.

We are a national charity helping to develop lifelong learning skills for the youths of today. With strong links to the maritime sector and Royal Navy. The charity uses the impact of being on the water to change their lives. Offering great flexible work and benefits
