This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced events manager to join WWT and help our events programme to engage our supporters and the wider public with our critical conservation work. From receptions for key stakeholders, to inspiring policy makers at conferences or organising the charities annual AGM; you will work closely with your job share partner and colleagues from across the organisation to develop and deliver a varied calendar of events, that make a real impact on what we can achieve.

We are looking for a creative, highly organised and collaborative individual with experience of managing a varied events portfolio. You will be as comfortable working with senior stakeholders as you are directing volunteers, with the ability to communicate clearly and manage the high pressure conditions of a busy event calendar. You will also play a key role in engaging our different audiences through virtual events, supporting the organisation in embracing this important event format.

Joining a newly formed team, this role will be integral in achieving our organisational ambitions and in motivating people to support our cause. More information can be found on our website.

The Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) is the UK’s leading wetlands conservation charity.  We are pioneers in saving threatened wetland wildlife, a centre for excellence in conservation science and experts in wetland management and creation.  Around a million visitors a year engage with wetland nature at our ten centres around the UK, and we work nationally and internationally in key wetland areas to balance conservation with sustainable livelihoods.

We have recently completed a review of our strategic priorities which includes ambitious targets for developing bigger and better wetlands, encouraging more people to take direct action for these unique places, and ensuring decision makers around the world realise the essential role wetlands play in restoring nature, combatting climate change and enhancing health and wellbeing.

In return for your hard work and dedication you’ll enjoy a wide range of benefits including:

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing to 30 days after 5 years’ service)
  • Flexible working location /  home working
  • Contributory pension scheme (conditions apply)
  • Life assurance
  • Free parking
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Free entry to all our centres

Interview date: 18th February 2021
