About Us 

We are The Hospice of St Francis, a charity that helps people throughout Hertfordshire and south Buckinghamshire to live their precious lives well by improving symptoms, achieving personal goals and helping them to feel safe. 

We are currently looking for a Senior Retail Manager to join us and play a key role in developing our trading portfolio. 

The Role 

Hours: Full Time / 37.5 HPW 

As the Senior Retail Manager, you will be accountable for the performance of our high street shops, working closely on a daily basis with our shop management teams and the development of our high street offer. 

Our retail portfolio is distinctive and our six charity shops, three specialist shops: number twenty, offering on trend gifts; Returned to Glory, our upcycled furniture showroom and Chapter Two, our new bookshop, all sit in the heart of their local communities. 

You will bring a solution-focused approach to sales, customer care and profitability, be ready to listen to others’ ideas and share our vision for charity retail. 

As part of an exceptional Central Trading team, you will report to our Head of Trading and work alongside our Logistics and Procurement Manager. 

The role may require the lifting and handling of heavy items. You’ll need a full, clean driving licence and the ability to travel as required by the role. The role also requires a Disclosure and Barring Services check.

About You 

To be considered as our Senior Retail Manager, you will need: 

  • At least three years’ experience in a senior charity retail role 
  • Experience of developing and implementing effective retail operations across all retail channels 
  • A proven track record of commercial success with donations and Gift Aid generation at its core 
  • Experience of excellent customer service delivery
