Our client is recruiting for a customer focused Community Officer to represent them as the local trusted organisation (LTO) for the Big Local programme based in Dewsbury Moor.  This post is initially for 12-months on a fixed term, 30 hours per week basis, with the possibility of being extended at the discretion of the Dewsbury Moor resident board.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to make a real impact working closely with Big Local project staff to support the resident board, local people and community groups to agree a range of exciting community priorities and objectives.

What will I be doing?

You will lead resident stakeholders in formulating a Big Local Community Plan, determining how funds should be allocated and priorities are delivered.  You will also assist to formulate and implement a comprehensive financial monitoring system and set project evaluation requirements for Big Local funding recipients.

 

Once this plan is in place, the responsibility and implementation will be transferred over to the resident board but you will be a trusted advisor, offering practical support and guidance along with providing and presenting reports where necessary.

 

Within the role you will partner with the Big Local Representative and the Dewsbury Moor board to recruit new members, promote the programme and identify sustainable solutions to community concerns.  This will also involve monitoring the budget, expenditure and efficiencies in line with the programme requirements.  You will be setting expectations and discussing performance with trustees to create an excellent service delivery culture.

The role will suit an experienced, confident and dynamic community development practitioner, with the ability to inspire and motivate others, and the belief that local people are best placed to determine and deliver the changes that will benefit their community. A full UK driving license and access to a car for business purposes is required for this role.
