Treasurer (voluntary position)

Do you believe that everyone in Wales has the right to a good, secure

 and affordable home?

Shelter Cymru are looking for someone with a professional accountancy qualification (or with appropriate financial skills and experience) to join a respected pan-Wales charity. Since 1981, we have helped more than half a million people find and keep a home.

We are currently seeking a Treasurer to fill a vacancy arising from April 2021. The appointee will work closely with our Head of Finance and will be a member of our board of trustees; s/he will scrutinise and inform our financial management, maintaining a strategic overview of the finances that underpin our charitable work, as well as making an active contribution, with fellow board members, to our overall strategy and effectiveness.

The expected time commitment is approximately 5-7 hours per month on average; virtual meetings are an important part of our current, and we anticipate our future, ways of working. This is a voluntary role but out of pocket expenses will be provided.

We welcome candidates from across Wales and from under-represented groups including: women, Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities, disabled people, people with relevant lived experience and young people.

The closing date for applications is 10am on Monday, 18th January 2021
