Assistant Director of Operations - Rough Sleeper Support Services - 6-month contract
Our client a local homelessness charity are seeking an experienced senior leader, for their community support service, this includes management of their f Rough Sleeper Outreach services, Homeless Health Link, Education, Training and Employment Services, and Peer Mentoring Service, this is an urgent need so requires someone who is immediately available, with direct experience at a senior level with homeless services, this is a remote based work but with the need to visit services in the Twickenham area and beyond as required.
To lead on the management and development of the community-based services, which currently include the following:
* Rough sleeper outreach services,
* Homeless health link service
* Training and employment service
* Peer mentoring
This role will focus on the development of non-accommodation support services across the organisation, this role will be key in developing innovative solutions to tackling social isolation, improving health and wellbeing outcomes, increasing the personal development and life skills of our service users. Working towards the mission of the charity 'Homelessness to Independence'
This role will provide leadership in building the capacity of services users, leading the teams to engage with service users in a creative innovative way, this role will be the lead for contract management of the services and will need to demonstrate excellent contract management skills.
This role will be required to think differently and implement service innovations by developing and managing positive, collaborative relationships with many partners and stakeholders that will have different perspectives and interests.
This role will be required to create cohesion across the various teams, by demonstrating a strong work ethic and ability to take initiative in proactively resolving issues and creating solutions to meet the needs of the service users.
KNOWLEDGE & UNDERSTANDING
A good knowledge of the homelessness sector in London including rough sleeping services
A good understanding of Fundraising, Local Authority and other Statutory funding of services
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to manage a varied group of service delivery teams
Ability to develop and deliver business plans effectively
Ability to manage teams to be compliant with organisational policies and procedures, including Health & Safety and Quality Assurance
Effectively utilize operational databases and use data to develop and deliver services effectively
Ability to manage resources using budgets and management accounts
Ability to support the submission of bids to secure new funding
Experience of leading service delivery - managing teams and services
Creating and develop business plans for the area of work
Experience of internal and external reporting to Senior Management Team and Board and stakeholders
Management of data and use of databases
Experience of analysing operational data to identify areas for improved performance
Experience of supporting new funding bids - bid writing and data analysis
Experience of effective financial management through budget setting, management accounting
