They are an award winning not for profit housing association based in County Durham. They provide over 8,400 homes to over 16,000 people across communities in County Durham.

 

Their ambitious Plan A sets out big challenges to enable sustainable tenure, provide quality homes and deliver a brilliant customer experience.  

 

About the role

In this role you will lead in the development, growth and implementation of a brand-new sustainability strategy which will enable a positive shift in their environmental impact through the decarbonisation of their homes in preparation for carbon net-zero by 2050. 

 

Working with a collaboration of teams across the organisation you will implement a range of projects and build a strong network within the sustainability arena.  You will have the opportunity to make a real impact in shaping their future plans to create a sustainable future, for their tenants and them as an organisation, whilst complying with any statutory and regulatory obligations relating to environmental sustainability.  

 

About you

They are looking for an ambitious manager to lead, shape and grow their sustainability agenda. You will be an effective communicator and brilliant at collaboration to achieve the best results. You will be knowledgeable and have a thirst for growing that knowledge and developing your skills.  You will be familiar with the regulatory, political, economic and social sustainability challenges that housing associations currently face. 

 

Knowledge of the different funding sources for decarbonisation is important and you will be experienced in scoping and setting up new projects as well as making effective and valuable contributions to external groups and networks.
