Job Details
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a fantastic homelessness charity in South London.
The organisation is a small, community charity making a big impact on ending rough sleeping in Lewisham. They offer a range of services for homeless people, from those sleeping rough, to those who are vulnerably housed; sofa surfing or living in temporary accommodation. People who have nowhere to live can come to their Gateway centre to have a shower, do laundry, eat breakfast and can also access healthcare from visiting nurses, mental health workers and health professionals.
The organisation's Advice and Support service offers guidance so that people can identify what help they are entitled to through housing provision and benefits, and maintains strong links with private landlords willing to accept former rough sleepers as tenants. They also provide individual support, including accompanying people to appeals and court hearings.
They are looking for a Chief Executive Officer to join the team on a permanent basis.
Location: Lewisham South London
Salary: circa 60,000 per annum plus benefits
Contract: Permanent
In your role as CEO you will support the Board of Trustees in the development of long-term strategies and the direction of travel for the charity, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organisation. You will be responsible and accountable for securing infrastructural, financial and human resources and ensuring that they are effectively deployed to achieve the organisation's business plan and deliver value for money.
A crucial part of this post will be to develop and maintain effective networks and partnerships with the organisation's stakeholders to ensure the charity delivers its aims and objectives and the needs of its service users. You will be an advocate for the needs of homeless people across the organisation's area of operation, actively listening to service users and ensuring there are effective channels in place for their involvement in the work of the organisation including the planning and delivery of its services.
Closing date for applications: 9am on Monday 21st December 2020
First Stage Interview: Thursday 7th January 2021
