Our Hospice’s Team has a tight knit and supportive culture, it is a culture of hard work, efficiency and ‘going the extra mile’. As an Estates Manager, of this gold accredited ‘Best Employer’ Charity, you will manage our small and friendly Estates and Facilities (EF) team and take the lead in the management for Health and Safety for the organisation.

The Estates Manager (EM) will be responsible for all Arthur Rank Hospice Charity (ARHC) sites and grounds ensuring they are maintained to a high standard and all regulations are adhered to through the establishment, implementation and monitoring of processes and contractors.

The EM will be based at the hospice, Shelford Bottom, Cambridge, with travel required to all other ARHC sites in Cambridgeshire (our Charity’s shops, warehouse and Alan Hudson Centre in Wisbech). The hospice at Shelford Bottom is a state of the art facility and an exemplar in the charity sector.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • experience in an estates/facilities management role in a similar size organisation
  • experience of a building services/trade discipline
  • experience in delivering great customer service
  • experience of managing a team
  • comprehensive knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and application
  • understanding of security requirements
  • ability to analyse information, influence and negotiate
  • flexible approach to work and working hours (some evening and weekend work will be required as dictated by charity’s events)
  • clean and full UK driving licence and is able to drive a van

Please note that the standard level of the DBS check will be required.
