School-Home Support Practitioner
Location: Barking & Dagenham
Salary range: £22,901 - £25,211 per annum - depending on experience

This post is for one year and is to start as soon as possible.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the demand for family support has risen. It is of paramount importance for this organisation to continue supporting families to minimise negative consequences for children. The coronavirus pandemic has disrupted many families and there is much more to be done to help ensure every child is in school or supported back to school and ready to learn.

The post-holder will support the organisation's existing services in 4 schools, focusing their support on improving attendance, punctuality and engagement. The post-holder will work in close partnership with existing practitioners and school staff, to deliver a programme of casework and other activities to promote educational outcomes for disadvantaged children and families. The post-holder will need to be persistent, resilient and tenacious.

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate, who will have good experience of working effectively with social and emotional factors affecting a child’s capacity to learn, strong abilities in engaging challenging children and their families, and a confident ability to form professional partnerships with children and their families along with experience of transition work
