Location: Cloverleaf Head Office, Dewsbury   

Responsible to: CEO

Direct Reports: HR Assistant

Pay: £35,000 FTE (pro rata for part-time hours)

Other: This post, and annual salary review, are subject to annual performance appraisal. Appointment subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) enhanced with barred list check.  Two satisfactory references and evidence must be provided of a right to work in the United Kingdom.

Overall Purpose:

This is an exciting opportunity to work at both a strategic and operational level to develop the provision of people services across the organisation.

We are looking for the right person to champion our values and promote equality, diversity, inclusion and wellbeing across Cloverleaf. The role will be required to provide advice on employment legislation and strategic issues and provide support to operational and senior managers. The HR Director will identify, prioritise and achieve improvements in organisational effectiveness and employee engagement through sound leadership and people management processes.

KEY TASKS:

1. Research, develop and implement innovative HR policies, and practices which are wholly compatible with the organisation's culture and ensure we are working are to the highest level.

2. Lead the management, advice and operational delivery of all people related policies, procedures and practices, including, but not limited to: a. Safe and effective recruitment practices. b. Attendance, absence management c. Disciplinary, Grievance, Capability procedures d. Employee consultations e. Employee Development f. Performance Management g. Change Management, including – Redundancy, Restructures h. Employee Reward and Recognition i. TUPE transfers j. Employee out-boarding

3. Provide an accessible professional contact point for managers, offering professional, prompt, consistent and credible advice and guidance

4. Take a fair, consistent and person-centred approach within agreed frameworks and procedures.

5. Undertake casework to support line managers in resolving issues within reasonable timescales.

6. Work closely with colleagues to ensure effective systems and practices around starters and leavers in the organisation.

7. Assess the 'people implications' of any proposed organisational changes

8. Provide guidance, support and coaching to line managers around managing people issues.

9. Lead, implement or participate in short-term projects to deliver organisational objectives

10. Support employee communications across the organisation through meetings, employee satisfaction surveys, newsletters, consultation groups and web-based communication.

11. Ensure that personal, employment, payroll and staff establishment information is accurate and held following Data Protection requirements.

12. Carry out appropriate consultation when changes occur.

13. Work in partnership with colleagues to identify, develop and implement best practice people support and management.

14. Support the CPD of the senior management team

15. Develop and maintain a high level of personal expertise in employment legislation and Cloverleaf's services, policies, and systems and processes, to ensure the provision of practical advice to Senior and Service Managers

16. Contribute to the development of the organisation's long-term strategy, working closely with senior management team colleagues.

17. Attend team and planning meeting with colleagues.

About you:

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with relevant skills and experience and a positive and enthusiastic approach to HR. The successful candidate will need to travel across the areas which Cloverleaf provides services, and as such will need to be a car driver with access to a vehicle during working hours. You may also need to travel nationally to conferences and other events.

You will need to;

• Hold CIPD Level 7 or equivalent (will consider Level 5 if extensive experience in HR)
• Have experience of HR in the not-for-profit sector
• Be experienced in developing and implementing HR policies
• Have experience of inward and outward TUPE transfers
• Be experienced in providing HR advice and support to senior managers
• Demonstrate excellent person-centred communication and presentation skills • Have outstanding negotiation and influencing skills
• Show commitment to treating people equally, being aware of unconscious bias and working proactively to challenge it.
• Demonstrate skills in conflict management
• Have experience of providing coaching/mentoring to managers about people issues.
• Be committed to your learning and development
• Show ability to work well under pressure and make balanced decisions quickly
• Be able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and priorities

You may also;

• Have experience of delivering training on HR issues to managers
• Be experienced in providing mediation
