Director of People and Inclusion
We are With You
from £65k • Home based with UK travel

We believe that everyone should feel comfortable getting the support they need for issues with drugs, alcohol or mental health. Our name expresses exactly what we do: working with people on their own goals whether that’s staying safe and healthy, making small changes or stopping an unwanted habit altogether.

With You provides free and confidential support to more than 100,000 people a year. We provide support to people in the way that’s right for them either in their local service, community or online. We also use our expertise to raise awareness and improve the help available.

We’re a big organisation, with 2,000+ people contributing as staff or volunteers, and our reach is nationwide. And we’re determined to design services that really work to help more people achieve their goals, inspiring broader changes in society and the sector. To achieve our ambitious strategy, the last few years has seen significant transformation taking place across the organisation.

2020 has shown just what’s possible in terms of thinking and doing differently, and we want to learn from this experience, changing how we work, so that our people can thrive in their jobs. We’re committed to providing better tools and platforms to help people work effectively, improving how we lead and support people to develop. We’ll create new partnerships to work together on shared problems, try new things and learn together.

This is where our new Director of People and Inclusion will really get to work. You’ll lead on the full spectrum of people strategy and implementation, making us an exemplar in how we attract, motivate, develop and retain our people. We want to take a whole-system view of the employee journey, understanding how we can both create an optimal workplace and enable our staff to work effectively for the people we support.

An experienced people leader, you will have experience of designing and leading the people strategy in at least one large, complex organisation, and a track record of success in leading a significant change programme is essential. As well as being a skilled problem solver, able to influence at all levels and drive transformational change, you’ll have the insight and knowledge to lead a team that manages high risk employee relations issues. A practical grasp of the complexities of a geographically dispersed organisation, and of contracting services within the public sector, would be a distinct asset.
