Company

The current 10GM partners are Action Together, Bolton CVS, Salford CVS and Macc with associates in other boroughs. We are local infrastructure organisations operating strategically and collaboratively across the geographic footprint of Greater Manchester.

Our shared purpose is to champion local voluntary and community action and social enterprise in all boroughs across the city-region in order to improve the economic, social and environmental wellbeing of Greater Manchester’s people and communities.

A principle of the Greater Manchester devolution agenda is to enable local people to become more involved in decision making. The VCSE sector is already working to make this happen in areas such as health and social care and with our work in increasing the resilience of communities. We are currently seeing an increase in demand for services combined with a reduction in funding from public sector budgets. This has presented challenges and means we have to work better as a sector and more closely with partners to make the impact needed.

We aim to improve the effectiveness and impact of the VCSE sector in reducing inequalities and improving the lives of people who live, work and study in Greater Manchester. We represent a combined membership of thousands of local voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise organisations working in communities and neighbourhoods all across the city-region. We work in partnership with other support providers and with the public, private and academic sectors and aspire to provide co-ordination and leadership. 10GM provides not only a strong independent voice for the sector in Greater Manchester but an ideal platform to develop communication and collaboration.
