Voluntary and community action is the backbone of communities: it brings about positive change and improves people’s lives. It is the role of voluntary and community sector infrastructure organisations – Councils of Voluntary Service or Voluntary Actions - to support voluntary and community organisations to be effective, efficient and well-informed.

NAVCA is the only national membership body in England that specifically and solely supports place-based local VCSE infrastructure organisations. It has 180 members who support 160,000 local charities and voluntary organisations.

We are proud of our roots in the VCSE sector and our wide membership of infrastructure organisations across England. We are ambitious for the voluntary sector and for VCSE infrastructure to be at the heart of thriving and fair communities. So, we are looking for a dynamic and inspirational Chief Executive to lead this work and shape the future of NAVCA during these turbulent times.

Key expectations of the role include; actively working with staff and Trustees to develop the strategy, supporting members in these tough times, influencing national decision makers and promoting the role of VCSE infrastructure at all levels.

A natural collaborator, the successful candidate will quickly establish credible and professional relationships with key stakeholders, building a reputation on getting the voice of the sector heard.

You will have significant voluntary sector experience at a senior level in leading and managing change, an understanding of, and experience of working with infrastructure organisations, with the ability to turn ideas into delivery and actions and the communication skills to share positive outcomes with our members.

If you believe this sounds like you and you have the skills and experience to lead and shape our unique organisation, please visit the NAVCA website; www.navca.org.uk for an application pack and details of how to apply.

The closing date for the role is midnight on Thursday 12 November 2020

Interviews will take place week on Tuesday 24 November 2020
