School Support Practitioner
Location: Haringey
Term time + 4 weeks
Salary range: £24,954 – £27,472 per annum (depending on experience)

Support will be focused on successful transition to secondary school for children with SEND (special needs and disabilities) and other vulnerable children.

The post-holder will work both remotely and across the secondary school and feeder primary schools in Haringey.

Work will be in close partnership with school staff, children and families to deliver a programme of casework and other activities to support transition. The focus will be on promoting high levels of attendance, punctuality and engagement to achieve the best outcomes for children.

The post-holder will have a positive outlook and be:

  • Experienced in working with hard to engage children and families
  • Experienced in multi-disciplinary working
  • Persistent and resilient
  • A creative thinker
  • Able to build strong, positive relationships

Prior knowledge and experience of SEND and transition work will be an advantage.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the demand for family support has risen. It is of paramount importance to this organisation to continue supporting families to minimise negative consequences for children. The coronavirus pandemic has disrupted many families and there is much more to be done to help ensure every child is in school or supported back to school and ready to learn.
