TPP Recruitment are excited to be working with a children and young people's charity who work to improve the lives and outcomes of children in care and young care leavers by providing them a range of high-quality services and support.

The charity is looking to recruit an Advice and Support Officer to provide an exceptional advice and support service to young care leavers, focussing on accessing further and higher education.

This is a brand new role for the charity and will be appointed as a 1 year fixed term contract initially. While currently remote, the role will be based in central London but will have the possibility to work from home half of the time.

As the Advice and Support Officer for Further and Higher Education, you will provide care experienced young people and the professionals working with them, prompt, accurate advice and support across a range of platforms including over the phone, social media, email/text and live chat, supporting them at various stages around accessing further and higher education.

Working with a caseload of young people you will use your knowledge of widening participation and accessing further and higher education to support the young people in informing them about their rights and entitlements in relation to education and learning, writing UCAS applications, writing personal statements and supporting their emotional and social wellbeing.

To be considered, you must be able to demonstrate experience and skills in the following:
-experience directly working with young people in a similar role, e.g., advice and guidance, youth work, widening participation, college or university setting.
-a strong understanding of further and higher education progression routes for care experienced young people including up to date knowledge of UCAS applications, relevant legislation for children in care and young care leavers with a focus on further and higher education
-a thorough understanding of safeguarding children and vulnerable young adults
