Training Programme Manager - NEET
Mansfield, Nottinghamshire

If you are a highly motivated teaching professional who has experience of working with 16 – 26 year olds who are NEET, this is an amazing opportunity to help local young people make positive changes in their lives.

About Us

The Inspire and Achieve Foundation (IAF) is a local, Mansfield-based charity that helps disadvantaged young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) conquer challenges, find their motivation and work towards a positive future.

Our innovative new education programme, LEAF (Learn. Evolve. Achieve. Future), aims to transform education into a more engaging experience, allowing young people to learn through practical sessions and fun, creative methods.

Through LEAF, they can realise their potential, secure educational or employment opportunities and get involved with projects that benefit the community (in the past we’ve created community allotments and renovated a skate park).

We are now looking for a Training Programme Manager to join our team and drive forward the development of LEAF.

The Benefits

  • Salary of £32,000 per annum
  • 28 days’ holiday including Bank Holiday
  • Make a lasting difference to the lives of disadvantaged young people
  • Enhance your experience with an established local charity

This is a great opportunity to support the ongoing success of a pioneering programme that is challenging traditional education methods and giving young people the tools they need to build a promising future.

Many of the young people we work with have the odds stacked against them, particularly those who have been involved in the criminal justice system or are at risk of offending. Often, they will have low aspirations, low self-esteem and will find it hard to imagine a positive future for themselves.

You’ll have the chance to help these young people broaden their horizons, gain confidence in their own abilities and realise their full potential.

The Role

As the Training Programme Manager, you will oversee the delivery of LEAF across Nottinghamshire and manage members of the LEAF team.

In this important role, you will recruit learners to the programme, write schemes of work and design lessons, arrange work placements, source venues and learning visits and organise assisted learning support. You’ll also have the chance to work directly with learners and deliver training programmes and workshops.

Reporting to the Director, you will:

  • Inspire, motivate and monitor the performance of your team
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders
  • Ensure that the programme complies with Ofsted requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date records as required by IAF, Ofsted or external funding contracts
  • Work with the Director to identify new projects/performance improvements
  • Act as the Secondary Safeguarding Lead for the charity

About You

To join us as a Training Programme Manager, you will need:

  • Teaching experience
  • Experience of working with 16 – 26 year olds who are NEET
  • Previous experience of developing and designing schemes of work or training provision
  • Extensive knowledge of managing and implementing Safeguarding processes and procedures
  • The ability to manage challenging behaviour in a classroom/workshop setting

Ideally, you will have experience of engaging and recruiting hard to reach young people. Experience of teaching functional skills/Level 1 English and Maths would also be an advantage, as would a track record of successfully assisting young people into employment, education or other positive outcomes.

Other organisations may call this role Training Manager, Education Programme Manager, Education Project Manager, Further Education Programme Manager, NEET Training Manager, NEET Programme Manager, Teacher, Tutor, or Workshop Programme Manager.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

The closing date for applications is the 22nd October 2020, with interviews scheduled to be held on the 27th October 2020.

Webrecruit and The Inspire and Achieve Foundation (IAF) are equal opportunities employers, value diversity and are strongly committed to providing equal employment opportunities for all employees and all applicants for employment.
