Tenancy Management Officer - Temporary

Our client a leading housing association are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic housing officer to join their neighbourhood team on a temporary basis. The role would involve carrying out site visits in order to do estate inspections and fire compliance checks, dealing with tenant queries and issues and working with the team and other colleagues to ensure that we deliver an excellent service to residents. The ideal candidate should have experience of dealing with complex anti-social behaviour cases and working using a multi-agency approach. As we have a lot of home working due to covid19, the candidate will need to be able to work autonomously but should have good communication skills to ensure the manager is kept up to date on tasks and important issues and that colleagues feel informed on areas they need to be. Proficiency in using CX housing management system or similar would be beneficial.

Personal Specification:

Relative to the Job

  • Experience of working in housing or social care environment
  • Knowledge of the issues that affect social housing
  • Understanding of allocation and void processes
  • Understanding of implementing good housing management and estate management practices including health and safety compliance
  • Understanding the different tenures and rent models that exist
  • Knowledge of housing fraud, legislation, investigation and partnership working
  • General understanding of rent arrears processes and legal processes for all tenancy breaches
  • Understanding of resident involvement
  • Ability to keep up to date with relevant housing management regulation and legislation
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.
  • A standard DBS would be required
  • The role covers the areas of Croydon, Sutton and BromleyThis role would be mainly working from home (a laptop would be provided) but visiting head office in Croydon once a week along with the line Manager to retrieve files and have some socially distanced meetings would be appropriate initially.
