Position: CEO

Location: West Yorkshire/Leeds/some remote work possible

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: £42,683 - £45,591

Contract: Permanent

The Role

The charity is a vibrant and brave grassroots organisation led by Gypsy and Traveller people in partnership with others in and across West Yorkshire Leeds Gypsy and Traveller Exchange. As CEO you will be an experienced, authentic, dynamic and knowledgeable individual. You will be required to lead delivery of the organisations mission, demonstrating its stated values, and ensuring that the organisation remains safe, legal and viable.

Please note due to current circumstances you will be required to do some work from home, with desk space at the office on a booking basis and outreach appointments being risk assessed.

About You

As CEO you will:

 

  • Demonstrate significant technical skill and ability in third sector leadership, as well as knowledge of the experiences and issues faced by Gypsy and Traveller people in the UK context.
  • Be able to inspire confidence and motivation in members, volunteers, staff team and partners, as well as providing reassurance during challenging times.
  • Be a people person.
  • Be an excellent multi-level and multi-platform communicator.
  • Be able to demonstrate a clear understanding and commitment to asset-based approaches to community work.
  • Have experience of mentoring and coaching staff teams.

About the Organisation

The organisation runs a number of community facing and strategic projects to achieve aims including advocacy, community development and youth work. You may also have experience in areas such as CEO, Chief Exec, Chief Executive Officer, Director, MD, Managing Director, Executive Director, COO, Chief Executive.
