Intelligent, influential and focused finance trustee wanted for game-changing yet embracing charity

This organisation is a high-profile national charity, striving to fund a network of seven dedicated research centres whilst challenging the Government and larger cancer charities to invest more in brain tumour research.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer… yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease.

All staff members are passionate about finding a cure and stopping the devastation within the organisation.

Due to resignation, they are looking to replace a long-standing trustee who has brought technical finance skills to the Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees plays a key role in the development of the charity, setting the overall strategic direction and providing scrutiny to their processes and decisions as well as ensuring standards of governance are upheld.

This role is pro-bono with meetings held three times a year in Milton Keynes (virtually during the current pandemic)

You will also be expected to Chair the Finance, Audit and Risk sub-committee as well as attend and contribute to a relevant annual workshop.

All trustees are invited to lobbying and other events.

First time trustees will be considered, and full induction and training will be provided.

Closing Date – 31st October 2020
