My clients mission is to support local people with life limiting illnesses, their friends and family. They provide clinical services and housing the goal is to raise around £1.8m each year. Seeking a Head of Charity to join part time on a permanent basis.

Description

You will be responsible for all the Charity's activities including Fundraising, Marketing and Communications, Governance, Finance and HR.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising To be a 'handson' Fundraiser particularly in the areas of Major Donors, Individual Giving and/or Trusts and identify, approach and manage a portfolio of funders.

To maximise income from current supporters and lead the development of innovative fundraising initiatives that maximise new opportunities to create sustainable income streams over the long term.

To represent on the joint Trading Board, ensuring resources are combined to deliver efficiencies and a strong financial return.

Marketing and Communications To develop and deliver an effective communications and marketing programme supporting and advising colleagues as needed.

To be the custodian of the brand, ensuring it is used consistently both internally and externally.

To maximise use of the brand for fundraising purposes, keeping the Charity's profile high in order to attract new supporters and elicit donations.

To speak in an inspiring and positive way at events to a wide range of stakeholders.

To lead the management of key external relationships including major donors, media, the public sector, suppliers and other supporters, building the reputation of the Hospice.

To be an inspirational leader who leads, builds and motivates the team, provides strong staff leadership and management and oversees development and training, enabling individuals to reach their full potential.

To proactively seek out the best people and invest time in developing them.

To be the main point of contact including being a proactive member of the Executive Team.

To develop and deliver a long term strategic and sustainable plan for the Charity incorporating Fundraising, Communications and Marketing.

To liaise with the Charity Accountant and Fundraising Lead to prepare the Charity's annual income and expenditure budgets and continually monitor these to ensure performance meets or exceeds target.

To liaise with the Charity Accountant to produce and analyse monthly management accounts, reporting significant variances and implementing remedial action where necessary.

To update the Board on work undertaken, successes and challenges via ad hoc updates, a regular written report and attending Board Meetings as requested.

To ensure all the Charity's suppliers are fit for purpose and providing value for money, ensuring their contracts are reviewed regularly.

In liaison with the Finance Committee and Business Manager to prepare the year-end statutory accounts and audit file of the Charity.

To maintain awareness of emerging regulation (e.g. from Fundraising Standards Board) and develop strategies and plans to protect the Charity.

The successful Head of Charity will be a self starter with experience leading on fundraising processes and managing commercial goals/outcomes.

Job Offer

This is a permanent post for a Head of Charity, the salary on offer is £50,000 per annum, this is a part time roles, with the expectation for the post holder to work 4 days a week. The equivalent annual take home is £40,0000. The charity is based in London. Not for profit and charities experience preferred but not essential.
