Senior Support Worker / Youth Worker (Homelessness / Gangs and Youth Violence)
Location: Stockwell
Salary: £26,780 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 per week. Working on shift which is 5 days a week over a 7 day rota, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.

About the Role
The service is an 87 bed supported housing service for young people aged 16-24 years with a range of complex needs, including experience of homelessness or rough sleeping, substance misuse, mental ill health and offending. The role will require you to work alongside customers, as part of a multidisciplinary team, to help identify their strengths and skills so they can achieve their goals and aspirations. Managing all aspects of service delivery including casework management and the daily running of busy hostels and promoting an inclusive and passionate culture.

About You    
This post presents an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of the development and delivery of services that support young people affiliated to criminal activity. In this specialist role you will be expected to work directly with vulnerable clients who are involved with gang culture and violent crime. You’ll play a vital role in supporting individual’s to create opportunities to move away from their gang membership into productive members of the wider community. 

As well as having experience of supporting vulnerable people who are at risk of offending, youth violence and gang affiliation to achieve independent living, you must have a clear understanding of why people become homeless, and the needs and challenges they face. Our client are ideally looking for you to have worked in a similar service or hostel environment before.
