Chief Executive Officer

2 days per week – flexible working essential - £21,081 p.a.

Up to 1 further day per week may be possible for a registered health professional able to provide additional clinical leadership.

We are looking to appoint an experienced and dynamic leader to become the new Chief Executive of our charitable trust, Music Therapy Works (MTW). Reporting to an established Board of Trustees, this leadership position provides an exciting opportunity to further develop and expand the pioneering work of our outstanding team of therapists.

MTW is an established leader in its field, delivering psychotherapeutically focused music therapy to children and adults across the Greater West Midlands Region. Established over 20 years ago, MTW moved to becoming an independent organisation in 2008 and continues to deliver clinical excellence. With a turnover approaching £300K and healthy reserves we have built a solid foundation for further growth into new geographical areas and new clients in a variety of settings.

Now we want your vision and expertise to ensure that MTW continues to give the life-changing opportunity of specialist clinical support to many more vulnerable children and adults. You will shape a growing team of highly qualified and HCPC registered arts psychotherapists (music). Fostering connections and partnerships with existing and new purchasers, you will be an active part of promoting our service and securing funding through bid-writing and grant applications.

The MTW Chief Executive has four key accountabilities:

  • delivery of our mission and strategic objectives;
  • financial control;
  • shaping our successful and happy team; and
  • the wellbeing and performance of the charity.
