Digital Communications and Online Events role (Virtually Speaking Development Officer)

(6-month fixed term contract with the possibility to extend)

£20-24k pro-rata (depending upon experience)

28 hours per week

A creative digital communications specialist required to develop and promote a thematic virtual events programme.

The Limbless Association provides support, information and connectivity to the limb loss community. We are a long-standing charity based in Chelmsford in Essex, which through our stakeholder networks, extends our reach as an organisation operating and connecting nationally.

We are excited to announce that we have received funding from The Coronavirus Community Support Fund (National Lottery) to recruit a Virtually Speaking Digital Communications & Events Officer to develop and extend our online offer, providing virtual support, information, and connectivity to amputees across the UK.

This new position will lead our Virtually Speaking project, designing and creating an innovative programme of events to complement our established regular monthly Hub sessions and lead on our communications and engagement strategy to promote and raise awareness of the Limbless Association across the UK as well as support greater digital access for our community.

Working remotely as part of a small team, you will have experience of working in the voluntary sector, ideally managing projects and coordinating online events. A confident communicator with knowledge of marketing and PR principles to help us share the fantastic work of our charity.

You will be enthusiastic, creative and self-motivated, comfortable with change in a fast-paced environment.

We are a registered charity that has been supporting amputees for over 35 years. We aim to support amputees, pre and post-amputation, to navigate the associated complexities with advice, information and signposting to empower individuals and their families to optimise their recovery and rehabilitation.

We provide support through;

  • a helpdesk, offering assistance with a wide range of matters and support to access the relevant services and resources,
  • Peer support, this vital service is expanding and supported by the National Lottery Community Fund. Our volunteers are all amputees who understand the challenges in the early days, weeks and months of limb loss.
  • Support and Connect Hubs which are currently running in Essex, Manchester, Bristol and Hull with more planned across the UK.
