Food Business Manager – Asia

They are looking for a proven relationship / account manager who will work to integrate higher farm animal welfare standards into the supply chains of leading global food businesses with supply coming from Thailand and of Thai national brands. The right candidate will be responsible for developing existing partnerships and establishing new ones with leading Thai food companies and producers, using existing key initiatives including the Good Farm Animal Welfare Awards, the Business Benchmark on Farm Animal Welfare and our work on cage-free systems for laying hens and Better Chicken Commitments for broilers..

Food Business Manager Requirements:

Passionate about humane, sustainable food, you will also have experience of project management and be an excellent communicator. A strong understanding of the commercial sector is essential, and a track record of working with or for food businesses, particularly with a focus on Sustainability or Corporate Responsibility issues, is highly desirable. Knowledge of the technicalities of measuring and managing animal welfare is an advantage, but not essential.

This is a vital role within their organisation, helping to ensure farm animal welfare is adopted as part of a sustainable supply chain and incorporated in the corporate policies of the world’s leading food businesses. The role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact for farm animal welfare within a dynamic team and influential organisation.

In an age where the debate about food provenance, sustainability and safety has never been more urgent, the challenge for our client is to combat the spread of factory farming and ensure that animal welfare becomes a fundamental consideration within the global food system.

Due to the current Covid-19 situation, interviews may take place via video link and the successful candidate may be required to be home based initially before moving to be based primarily at their headquarters in Godalming, Surrey. Whilst there is some flexibility for home working the role will be mainly office based.

Location: Godalming, Surrey GU7 1EZ and will require significant travel to Thailand, with potentially additional travel to other countries in Asia Pacific

Job type: Full Time, Fixed Term Contract for 21 Months

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 (dependent upon experience)
