The Welsh Government’s Communities for Work Plus programme will provide the infrastructure to support the ongoing delivery of Communities for Work. It will take forward the learning from the Lift Programme, and enable Lead Delivery Bodies to enhance their employment focused support for those, often with complex barriers, who are furthest from the labour market.

The programme will support individuals who are in or at risk of poverty, consistent with the obligations under the Well-Being of Future Generations (Wales) Act. It will work with key stakeholders such as Families First, Flying Start and Supporting People in providing pathways between programmes in order to provide interventions and support to prevent worklessness and economic inactivity. It will provide support for participants who fall outside the currently tightly defined geographical boundaries and eligibility criteria of Communities for Work and other ESF funded programmes.

The Employment Training Officer will be expected to develop, design, procure and organise training linked to employers’ and participants’ needs by developing, in collaboration with the Employment Liaison Officer, effective and sustained working relationships with businesses, sole traders and other employers to secure appropriate work based training and employability opportunities for participants.

You will provide a flexible, high quality service, working in partnership with Community Employment Programmes across Blaenau Gwent, and work as part of an integrated team.

An Enhanced DBS check is required. No CVs accepted. Applicants will only be contacted if they are successful in securing an interview.
