London Programmes and Communications Co-ordinator (24 Month FTC)
London, WC1 (Office/Home Based)

About Us

We are London Higher, an ‘umbrella’ body representing over 40 publicly funded universities and higher education (HE) institutions in London, as well as several universities with centres in London and a small number of private providers.

We are the place where universities and higher education colleges come together to identify the opportunities and address the challenges of working in London.

One of our key divisions, AccessHE, is the regional network for widening access to higher education. We support learners from underrepresented groups at all stages of their HE learner journey by working collaboratively with over 25 HE providers and a wider network of schools, colleges and third sector partners. Together we deliver a range of outreach projects as well as initiatives designed to support current students.

We are currently looking for a London Programmes and Communications Co-ordinator to join AccessHE for a 24 month contract.

The Benefits

- Salary of £30,000 - £34,000 per annum
- Pension
- Employee assistance programme
- Home working options
- Offices in a central London location
- A friendly and informal atmosphere
- 25 days’ annual leave per annum plus Bank Holidays and Christmas and Easter shutdowns

This is an outstanding opportunity for an educational outreach professional with great experience of producing communication materials to take on a two year contract with an organisation that is making a real impact on higher education in London.

You’ll have the chance to facilitate the educational needs of marginalised and underrepresented individuals and groups, creating brighter futures and enabling them to build rewarding careers.

So, if you are seeking a new challenge and have the passion and drive we are looking for to make a difference to higher learning opportunities in London, this is the role for you.

The Role

As the London Programmes and Communications Co-ordinator, you will deliver a range of projects for members of the AccessHE network.

Specifically, you will take the lead on Action Forums, thematic groups that bring member organisations together to share best practice and develop new methods for supporting London learners.

Providing support for these forums both in-person and remotely, you will engage with, and mobilise, the AccessHE community through digital communications as well as forums.

About You

To be considered as a London Programmes and Communications Co-ordinator, you will need:

- Experience of constructing and co-ordinating educational outreach activities and services
- Experience of producing communications materials
- Experience of working with organisations and stakeholders from across different sectors
- To be a confident communicator who is keen to develop and maintain strong working relationships with AccessHE’s partners
- To be a strategic thinker who is able to identify new opportunities to support AccessHE members
- To be passionate about advancing social mobility through higher education and motivated by the opportunity to work in a wide-ranging collaborative role
- The ability to communicate effectively and via multiple channels with external partners
- A proactive approach to working with and supporting those partners

Ideally, you will have a good understanding of widening access to HE policy and practice through experience in delivering educational outreach.

Other organisations may call this role Project Co-ordinator, Programme Co-ordinator, Project Communications Co-ordinator, Education Project Co-ordinator, Higher Education Project Co-ordinator, or Educational Network Co-ordinator.

The closing date for this role is Monday the 5th October 2020.
